Devonian fossils in limestone matrix include bryozoa, crinoid, and brachiopod fossils. Largest pieces are about 1/2 inch (10 mm). Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve, Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area, Rockford, Iowa, USA.
In the petrified bed of a river in San Juan Raya, within the Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve, state of Puebla, the petrified footprints of dinosaurs that lived here in the Jurassic were found, specifically these of carnivorous theropods. They are marked with river stones to be able to identify them.

An eroding rock with fossil inclusions surrounded by beach rock swash deposits.  These types of rocks are fairly common to find on NW USA beaches for those with a keen eye.

The three sections of the Taung Child Skull as reconstructed by Raymond Dart. In 1924 miners at the Buxton Quarry near Taung in South Africa's North West Province discovered a fossil that was later identified by Dart as an Australopithecus africanus, the first discovery of its kind. His reconstruction consists of three separate parts: the mandible, the face, and an endocranial cast. Age: approximately 2,5 million years. Taung is part of the UNESCO Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.
