The Nile River in Kerma village, next to the dilapidated ruins of Kerma (also known as Dukki Gel), a 5500 years old civilization that flourished in the Nubian desert, in northern Sudan. Kerma is one of the largest archaeological sites in ancient Nubia, most of it abandoned and at the mercy of the elements and birds nesting on its walls. The Nubian Desert is in the eastern region of the Sahara Desert, between the Nile and the Red Sea. The native inhabitants of the area are the Nubians, descendants of the ancient Nubian civilizations.

Gokdepe, Ahal Region west of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan: view over the turbid waters of the Karakum Canal - Soviet built irrigation canal, supplies water to the southern and southwestern regions of Turkmenistan with a length of 1445 km, of these 450 km allow navigation - starts in the Amu Darya River above Kerki, goes through the sands of the south-eastern Karakum Desert, crosses the ancient Murghab oasis and the interfluve of the Murgab and Tejen rivers and passes along the foothills of the Kopetdag mountains - a major factor leading to the Aral Sea environmental disaster - Karakumskiy Kanal.

The Umm el Ma or Umm el Ma (Mother of the Water) is about 800 meters long stretched lake in the Libyan part of the Sahara in the Fezzan Awbari. The oasis formed by the lake will be saved from numerous underground water reservoirs. The salinity of the lake rises to 34%.
