Purple Beardtongue is an incredibly beautiful wildflower that grows in abundance in a prairie next to the Idabel, Oklahoma airport. These were photographed in late April.

(Penstemon davidsonii) The Davidson's Penstemon is a bright showy wildflower which can be found between 4000- 7000 feet in the Cascade Range. This densely matted plant with rhizomes grows on rock ledges and talus slopes. The tubular flowers can be purple, lavender, or pink in color. The entrance to the inside of the flower is very hairy.

Royal Beardtongue, Penstemon Speciosus, a native perennial monoclinous herb displaying terminal dichasiate thyrse inflorescences during Summer in the San Emigdio Mountains.
Penstemon heterophyllus is a species of penstemon known by the common names bunchleaf penstemon, foothill penstemon, and foothill beardtongue. It is endemic to California and found in Modini Mayacamas Preserve, Sonoma County, California. \

Symphytum officinale is a perennial flowering plant of the genus Symphytum in the family Boraginaceae. Along with thirty four other species of Symphytum, it is known as comfrey. To differentiate it from other members of the genus Symphytum, this species is known as common comfrey or true comfrey.
(Penstemon procerus) The Small-flower Penstemon is a bright colored wildflower in the Spring. Found from 3000-7000 feet in the sub-alpine meadows it is a favorite for the marmots to eat.
