Male Eclectus parrot (Eclectus Roratus). Eclectus is native to the north-eastern Australia, New Guinea and nearby islands, Solomon Islands, Sumba, and the Maluku Islands (Moluccas). It is unusual in the parrot family for its extreme sexual dimorphism of the colours of the plumage; the male having a mostly bright emerald green plumage and the female a mostly bright red and purple/blue plumage.
L 19-22cm.\nFamiliar breeder in farmland and suburban areas, and in woodland (esp. with oak). Post-breeding flocks, sometimes of enormous size, forage on fields, in gardens, on cherry trees, on shoreline seaweed, etc.\nIn the Netherlands largely resident, but massive influx from N and NE Europe during Aug-March, some roosting in urban sites.\n\nThis is a very common Breeder in the Netherlands. In Winter there are large Flocks to be seen, which gives a spectacular view in the Sky.

A Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) singing in a bush at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area in Riverside County, Southern California. The Northern Mockingbird is a member of a small New World family (Mimidae) of about 30 species, including other mockingbirds, thrashers, catbirds, and tremblers. This bird is common and widespread and ranges from the mid United States to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico. As the scientific name implies (Mimus polyglottos= “many-tongued mimic”), the Northern Mockingbird is an extremely accomplished repeater of practically any sound that it hears, whether it be another bird or mechanical noises.
Scrub jay drying it's feathers in the sunlight. The Florida scrub-jay is only found in Florida, its population in decline and severely limited by lack of habitat.
