Off the Island of Fakarava there is a famous dive site called the 'Wall of Sharks' where over 500 sharks can be seen at anythime. Considered to be one of the best dives in the world.

Shortfin Mako Shark Free Diving
The shark's keen eyes and pointed snout are prominent features, while its blue coloration is characteristic of the species. The photo provides a unique and detailed view of the shark's anatomy and behavior, and serves as a valuable scientific record of this important marine predator. It is a reminder of the need to study and protect these creatures, which play a vital role in maintaining the health and balance of our oceans.

Blacktip Reef Shark Carcharhinus melanopterus occurs in the tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific from the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and East Africa to the Hawaiian Islands and the Tuamoto Archipelago, north to Japan and south to Australia and through the Suez Canal in the eastern Mediterranean, in a depth range from 0-75m, max. length 200cm. Rainbow Runners Elagatis bipinnulata inbetween the sharks. The species occurs circumtropical and subtropical in a depth range from 0-150m, usually 2-10m, max. length 180cm, usually 90cm. Palau announced 2009 world's first shark sanctuary, banned all commercial shark fishing within its exclusive economic zone. 600000 sq km (230,000 sq mi) of ocean are protected now. As a result, divers see more sharks here than anywhere else! Palau, near German Channel, 7°7'13.279 N 134°16'23.389 E at 1m depth. This is a composite photo.

Underwater image of Great Hammerhead shark in the blue ocean off Bimini, The Bahamas. Killing due to misconception of sharks as well as unsustainable fishing to obtain its fins has led to  a dramatic collapse in shark populations worldwide. As a consequence the hammerheadshark as well as other species of sharks are now critically endangered.

Grey Reefshark or Blacktail Reef Shark Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos occurs in the Indo-West and Central Pacific on continental and insular shelves and oceanic waters adjacent to them. The species is common on coral reefs, often in deeper areas near drop-offs to the open sea, in atoll passes, and in shallow lagoons adjacent to areas of strong currents in a depth range from 1-275m. Max. length female 172cm, male 255cm. Palau announced 2009 world's first shark sanctuary, banned all commercial shark fishing within its exclusive economic zone. 600000 sq km (230,000 sq mi) of ocean are protected now. As a result, divers see more sharks here than almost anywhere else! A Live Sharksucker Echeneis naucrates is attached at this specimen.
