23 february 2025, Yutz, Moselle, Lorraine, Grand Est, France. It's winter. In a public park, a Common Kestrel is taking advantage of large grassy areas to hunt. The raptor was captured with its wings fully spread, revealing the underside of its white, black-spotted wings. Its body is brown, and its folded yellow talons stand out clearly from its plumage. The bird is looking down intently, trying to spot future prey, a micromammal. Its brown head indicates it's a female.
