$Very variable, short to tall, hairy or hairless annual or biennial; stem solid, often ridged, leaves 2-3 pinnate, feathery, with linear or lanceolate segments; uppermost leaves often bract like. Flowers white, the central one of the umbel sometimes purple, 2mm, the umbels with numerous rays which become markedly contracted and concave in fruit. Fruit oblong, 2-4mm, shortly spiny.\nHabitat: Rough grassland, on well-drained soils, usually at low attitudes. Flowering Season: June-August.\nDistribution: Throughout Europe, except the far North.\nThe taproot is typically white and the umbel rays become erect and incurved as the fruit matures.\n\nThis Plant is much to be seen along Roadsides and Rough Grasslands in the Netherlands.$
