$Whitespotted Boxfish Ostracion meleagris occurs throughout tropical Indo-Pacific in a depth range of 1-30m, feeding on polychaetes, sponges, didemnid tunicates, mollusks and algae. Max length 25cm. \nThis specimen is a female. The pattern of the male is similar on the dorsal carapace, but blue and black on side with yellow markings at the base of the caudal fin.\nThe Hawaiian population can be considered as a subspecies.\n\nUSA, Hawai'i, West Coast Big Island at 10m depth\n19°4'35.88\$
