A popular holiday destination, the charming village is just a short walk from the beach. Captured on a July morning, the marshes are looking lush and green, and the marram grass is in full flower, showing dense spikes. Walberswick falls within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Every August, Thorpeness Meare is the setting for the Thorpeness Regatta.

The water tower was built in 1923 and was disguised to blend in with the mock-Tudor and Jacobean-style buildings in the village. The windmill was built in Aldringham in 1803 and moved to Thorpeness in 1923 to pump water to feed the water tower.
