Analogue colour image of the landscape a black pebbles beach (Greek: Mavra Volia or Maura Volia) consisting of small pebbles of volcanic origin (mostly of black color, but also some white, yellow, red, orange and green) close to the Emporio (or Emporios) village south on the Greek Island of Chios in the Aegean Sea. The pebbles were created from the lava of Psaronas volcano (now inactive). The image was captured analog film by a 35 mm old-fashioned film camera. The image is part of a series of old-fashion analogue film pictures of Chios.

Rocky beach at the coastline of the Greek Island of Chios in the Aegean Sea on a windy morning in summer. In the background is the Turkish coastline south-east of the coastal town of Cesme, Turkey. This is where many refugees have started their dangerous trip across the Aegean sea headed for Chios in overcrowded dinghy boats. Many refugees travelling from Turkey to Greece have landed on this particular beach (in the foreground). The image was captured on old-fashioned black and white grainy ISO 400 film by an analogue 35 mm film camera and a wide-angle prime lens. The granularity in the image is real film grain (due to the presence of small particles of a metallic silver on the negative). Minimal post processing has been done (only adjustment of histogram). The image is part of a series of the coastline of Chios, Greece.
