Sea buckthorn commonly grows in sandy soils near coastal areas. It’s valued both for its ability to stabilize soil and prevent erosion through its extensive root system, and for its berries, which are an exceptional source of vitamin C—just one berry contains more vitamin C than an orange.This photo is taken at Kalvebod Fælled, a large public nature reserve covering much of Amager Island. The area is just a 20-minute ride from central Copenhagen by public transport.
