Image of abandoned ruined medieval fortification (Dothia) on the Greek Island of Chios in the Aegean Sea in summer (late May) on a sunny day. The image was captured on old-fashioned 35mm black and white grainy ISO 400 film by an analogue (or analog) 35 mm film camera and a wide-angle prime lens. The granularity in the image is real film grain (due to the presence of small particles of a metallic silver on the negative). Minimal post processing has been done (only adjustment of histogram). The image is part of a series of analog black and white images of Chios, Greece.

Magpie Mine is near the village of Sheldon and dates back to 1740. It is famous for fatal running battles it had with other mines over resources which led to a 'widows' curse' on the men of Magpie Mine after they were implicated - but cleared - of the deaths of some of their competitors. When the mine was closed in 1958 it was the last working lead mine in Derbyshire. It is a standing old ruin which is free for the public to view and explore.
