$The Blue Flatworm Cycloporus venetus is well camouflaged on a Sea Squirt Clavelina sp., both his colors match perfectly. \nCycloporus venetus occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from India to Indonesia, north to Japan, south to Australia, max. length 5cm. Species determination amongst members of the genus Cycloporus is mostly based on colour and pattern, given that the internal reproductive anatomy is similar between species (Newman & Cannon, 2002). Distinguishing species of Cycloporus can be challenging since these animals tend to be transparent and the colour greatly depends on the content of the intestinal branches. However, Cycloporus venetus has a unique and diagnostic colour and pattern. \nCalavelina ascidians are colonial but not fully fused tunicates, meaning individual zooids are connected at the base but remain distinct. They are filter feeders, drawing in water through the oral siphon, extracting plankton, and expelling water through the atrial siphon. They play a role in marine ecosystems by filtering particles and providing habitat for small organisms. They typically grow on rocks, corals, sponges (like this aggregation), dock pilings, and artificial structures.\nLembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia\n1°28'56.394 N 125°15'15.588 E at 15m depth$
