Mount Nemrut is a 2,150 meter high mountain located in Adıyaman province of Turkey. The Commagene king Antiochos Theos had his own temple built on the top of this mountain in 62 BC, as well as the statues of many Greek and Persian gods.

One of the great wonders of the ancient world, Persepolis embodies not just a grand architectural scheme but also a grand idea. It was conceived by Darius the Great who, in 520 BC, inherited the responsibility for ruling the world's first known empire founded by his predecessor, Cyrus the Great. Embracing tenets such as cultural tolerance and fair treatment of all subjects, Darius sought to reflect these concepts in the design of the magnificent palace complex at Persepolis, inviting architects from the furthest corner of the Persian Empire to contribute to its construction. The result is an eclectic set of structures, including monumental staircases, exquisite reliefs and imposing gateways, that testified to the expanse of Darius' domain.

Saqsaywaman (Saksaywaman, , Sasawaman, Saksawaman, Sacsahuayman, Sasaywaman or Saksaq Waman (Quechua language) (hispanicized spellings SacsayhuamÃ¡n, Sacsayhuaman, Sacsahuaman, Saxahuaman and others)) is a citadel like structure on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, Peru, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Sections were first built by the Killke culture about 1100; they had occupied the area since 900. The complex was expanded and added to by the Inca from the 13th century; they built dry stone walls constructed of huge stones. The workers carefully cut the boulders to fit them together tightly without mortar. The site is at an altitude of 3,701 m (12,142 ft). In 1983, Cusco and Saksaywaman together were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List for recognition and protection.

The tomb or the Hierotheseion of Nemrut Dağ bears unique testimony to the civilization of the kingdom of Commagene. Antiochos I is represented in this monument as a descendant of Darius by his father Mithridates, and a descendant of Alexander by his mother Laodice. This semi-legendary ancestry translates in genealogical terms the ambition of a dynasty that sought to remain independent of the powers of both the East and the West. More than the tombs at Karakuş and Eski Kâhta, the tumulus at Nemrut Dağ illustrates, through the liberal syncretism of a very original pantheon, a significant historical period. The landscaping of the natural site of Nemrut Dağ is one of the most colossal undertakings of the Hellenistic epoch (some of the stone blocks used weigh up to 9 tonnes).

Mount Nebo is an elevated ridge approximately 710 metres above sea level, located in the Jordanian Highlands, a part of the Abarim mountain range, it is mentioned in the Bible Old Testament as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death.
