Low to short, generally sprawling hairy annual; stems branched. Leaves oval-triangular, mostly alternate except for the lowermost, pale green, coarsely toothed, short-stalked.Flowers bright blue, 8-12mm, the lowermost petal usually white, solitary on slender stalks at the base of the upper leaves. Capsule 2-lobed, borne on recurved stalks, the lobes diverging, keeled.Habitat: Cultivated ground on a variety of soil types, locally abundant. Flowering throughout the year.Distribution: Naturalized through Europe, since early in the nineteenth century.This is a common Species on the described Habitat and other Rural Places in the Netherlands.
