Found throughout Europe and most of North America except the South from Texas eastward. Season all year. Not edible. Comment The most commonly collected polypore in North America. The cap colors are rather variable (source R. Phillips).\n\nThis beautiful Species is nowadays quite common in the Netherlands and growing on different Trees.$
