Often overshadowed by Yellowstone National Park, its larger neighbor to the north, Jackson Hole and the Snake River Valley is a land of vast scenic beauty. What it lacks in geysers and hot springs, it more than makes up for in the rugged Teton Mountain Range. The Teton's many canyons lead to alpine meadows, cirques and towering peaks. It was this rugged range that became Wyoming's second national park in 1929. In 1950 the park boundaries were expanded to include much of the Snake River Valley. Mt Moran Across the Lake

Buck Mountain is a prominent peak in the Teton Range, standing at 11,938 feet (3,639 meters). It was first summitted in 1898 by TM Bannon, making it one of the earlier peaks in the Teton Range to be climbed.
