Situated at the mouth of The Narrows leading into St. John's Harbor, Fort Amherst Lighthouse stands on a rocky outcropping in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The first lighthouse at Fort Amherst was established in 1813, with the current lighthouse (1951) being the third to stand at the site. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1982 and declared a heritage site in 2014.

The most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear served as a strategic location for a lighthouse in the eighteenth century and a military fort in the nineteenth century. Since 1836, the site has been home to the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland. Restored to its original appearance, the lighthouse interprets the life of a 19th century lightkeeper and his family. Visitors will also learn about the changes in lighthouse responsibility and upkeep. At the tip of Cape Spear are the remains of Fort Cape Spear.

the Cap Blanc Lighthouse, located on the west coast of the Cap peninsula, at the northern tip of Miquelon island in the Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon archipelago, is a significant maritime navigation aid and historical landmark. Its construction was prompted by the 1874 shipwreck of the British frigate Niobé, leading the United Kingdom to request a lighthouse from France to secure the dangerous waters. The current structure, a cylindrical cast-iron tower supported by six buttresses and topped with a red lantern, was prefabricated by the French company Barbier and Fenestre and entered service in 1883. To protect it from the harsh marine environment, the tower has been encased in a concrete shell. The lighthouse is now automated and, in recognition of its historical importance, was classified as a French Historic Monument. The structure still plays a vital role in ensuring maritime safety for vessels approaching Miquelon Bay and the surrounding coastline.
