A dragonfly is an insect belonging to the order Odonata, infraorder Anisoptera. Adult dragonflies are characterized by large, multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong, transparent wings, sometimes with coloured patches, and an elongated body.

The scarce chaser is a species of dragonfly. The adult male has a bright blue abdomen with patches of black, while the adult female and juvenile male each have a bright orange abdomen. It is about 45 mm in length with an average wingspan of 74 mm. It is distributed throughout Europe

In the past was known to have massive migrations.\n\nThis is a common Species in the described Habitats in the Netherlands.\nThe Picture is made in the Wieden (Overijssel, the Netherlands) in mid June of 2023.
