Adults occur in steep outer reef, occasionally in deep lagoons and along channel walls, usually in current prone habitats and where there are abundant gorgonian and long sea-whip corals on which they lay and guard eggs. The species feeds on zooplankton. Most of the time, a fish's behavior depends on its species. The Ver-o-Peso Market, located in Belém do Pará, is one of the largest and most traditional open-air markets in Latin America. Founded in the 17th century, it is a true symbol of Amazonian culture and a gathering place for merchants, chefs, tourists, and locals.The market stands out for its incredible variety of typical Amazonian ingredients, offering everything from medicinal herbs and exotic spices to native fruits such as açaí, cupuaçu, bacuri, and taperebá. Additionally, it boasts a wide selection of fresh fish from the Amazonian rivers, including tambaqui, pirarucu, and filhote, as well as seafood.Visitors can also find artisanal flours, vegetable oils like andiroba and copaíba oil, along with peppers, nuts, and regional honey. Not to mention the famous Amazonian seasonings and herbs, used both in cooking and traditional medicine.

This specimen was photographed during a night dive while standing motionless. It would have been more difficult during the day. The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific from Africa to Japan and Australia (but not in the Red Sea or the Arabian Gulf) widely around coral reefs to a maximum depth of 60 m. Pterocaesio tile grows up to a max. length of 30 cm, the common length is 20 cm. Juveniles occasionally appear in large numbers in shallow lagoons and on reef flats. This species feeds on zooplankton in midwater aggregations and is a typical Tuna baitfish. Palau, 7°4'54.456 N 134°15'43.506 E at 12m depth

$Foursaddle Grouper Epinephelus spilotoceps occurs in the tropical Indo-West-Pacific from East coast of Africa to the Line Islands. Except for its occurrence along the African coast (Zanzibar, Tanzania to Ponta Zavora, Mozambique) it seems to be primarily an insular species, occurring at most (probably all) of the islands of tropical Indian and west-central Pacific in a depth range from 0 to 30m, max. length 47cm. \n\nUsually species have a more ore less specific behaviour. Groupers are shy and have a long escape distance.
