$Black-necked grebe or eared grebe (Podiceps nigricollis) in the Danube Delta, on the back of the mother there is a newborn chick. \n\nThe Danube Delta (Romanian: Delta Dunării) is the second larges river delta in Europe, it is listed as a World Heritage Site. The larger part of the Delta is belonging to Romania, a smaller part to Ukraine.$

In winter, offshore or on lakes, reservoirs, mostly in W Europe.\nNot shy, spends much time openly on unvegetated waters.\nNest a large mound of reed stems.\n\nThis is a common Species in the Netherlands (Breeds also in Canals near Habitation).$
