In 1836 two fountains, the Maritime Fountain and the Fluvial Fountain are on either side.Jacques-Ignace Hittorff designed the Neoclassical design of the Fountain of the Rivers Commerce and Navigation and Fountain of the Seas.On the North of the square is the Hotel de la Marine and Hotel Crillon. On the east side Famed Riding Pegasus statue by Antoine Coysevox.
