(Erythranthe guttatus) Seep-Spring Monkeyflower is also known as Yellow Monkeyflower.  This a primarily a perennial from rhizomes in Mount Rainier National Park.  The leaves are opposite and ovate on hairless stems.  The leaves are also palmately veined.  The yellow flowers are 2 lipped and the petals are 3/4 -1 1/4 inches long.  The lower lip is dotted with red spots.  These plants grow along streams and in very wet soils.

(Erythranthe alsinoides) Chickweed Monkeyflower is commonly called  Wingstem Monkeyflower too.  This annual herb grows in moist soils and along streams from the lower forest to 4500 feet on elevation.  These small plants have oval leaves which are green on top and red tinged on the edges beneath.  The whole plant is hairy.  The flower is a two lipped lobe above with three to five veins.  The lower lip lobe has a red blotch or small red dots.  The lower calyx teeth are long and blunt.  The calyx trait separates a similar species from  Erythranthe washingtonensis.
