Cleome Viscosa is a Cleomaceae family annual herb. It is also known as Asian Spiderflower and Tick Weed. It is widely distributed Asia, Africa, America and Australia.
Calocera viscosa (Pers : Fr) Fr or Yellow Antlers in English.\nFruiting body: up to do 10cm height, branched (similar to the genus Clavaria), somewhat slime surface, nice orange colour. The base extends (continues) as a root in the substrate. \nMicroscopy: spores eliptic elongated, flat on one side, smooth, hyaline, unamyloid, with two oily droplets, 8-12x3-4,5µm, often when mature get one sept. Basidia shape of a tuning fork with 2 spores. \nFlesh: gelatinous, hard, orange, without any particular smell or taste. \nHabitat: grows on moist places under conifer tree from litter or from wood. \nEdibility: not edible (source R. Phillips).\n\n \nThis is a typical Fungus on Trunks of Pine (Pinus) and other Conifers and is common in Dutch Forests.
