Eastern Carpenter Bee on Wisteria

A single August's Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa augusti), a species originally from eastern South America but which has been spread by humans, probably in freight, to Chile and other nearby nations. They nest in tree trunks or other large timbers, hence the name, and so can be a pest in wooden structures.
