As this male hooded merganser duck rises out of the water, it spreads its wings in a dramatic, adorable dance. This was captured at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden.

I have been to a number of zoos and seen Penquins on land and in the water. I have seen them preening on land but this was the first time I had seen this action while in the water.
