Striped Crake.\nThe striped crake (Aenigmatolimnas marginalis) is a species of bird in the family Rallidae. It is the only species in the genus Aenigmatolimnas, having formerly been included in Porzana or in the defunct genus Poliolimnas. Its precise relationships, however, are still enigmatic.\nIt is found in Cameroon, Comoros, Republic of the Congo, DRC, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.\nVagrants have been recorded in Kuwait, Italy, Algeria, Morocco and Libya.
The Yuma subspecies of Ridgway's Rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis) in a marsh at the south end of the Salton Sea.  This subspecies, and indeed the entire species, is listed as near threatened on the IUCN, primarily because of habitat loss.  It doesn't help that the Salton Sea is in danger of drying up.
