The photographer describes his experience with this large bear:\n\nI get out of the car and lean against a tree. When the bear stops eating berries and looks in my direction -- a signal that it wants to go where I am -- I withdraw.\n \nA man walking by heads toward the bear with his cellphone. I tell his companion that the bear seems ready to come forward, so walking toward it is not a good idea. She seems to understand. Meanwhile, other people arrive and get out of their cars.\n \nSuddenly, it's like a park road in Yellowstone. People are in front of the bear and on either side of it, holding up phones. Thick underbrush and a pond behind the bear prevent it from going the opposite way. If it knocks someone over to get out of there, they'll hunt it down.\n \nLuckily, sunset is coming.
