$Clarks Anemonefish Ampiphrion clarkii occurs in tropical Indo-West Pacific in a depth range from 1-60m, max. size 15cm. Ampiphrion clarkii has the broadest distribution of any anemonefish and occurs in many color varieties, geographic ones but melanistic one too, as some sea anemones change the fishs color, mostly from orange to black. The juveniles are mostly yellow like this specimen hiding in a Leathery Sea Anemone Heteractis crispa. \nHeteractis crispa occurs in the tropical Indo-West Pacific, usually subtidally among dead coral and rock rubble. The tentacles are very numerous, up to 800. The length of the tentacles is typically to 100mm, so the young Anemonefish is obviously very very small. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia, 3°55'30.51 S 134°6'32.064 E at 10m depth$

Magnificent sea Anemone (Heteractis magnifica) aka Ritteri anemone colonise this healthy underwater coral reef. When open these flared out Cnidarian discs reveal vast amounts of stinging tentacles used to stun and consume it’s prey.
