Remnants of painted frescoes-exterior wall of the cliff housing the Mogao caves rock cut into the local sandstone depicting Buddhist imagery spanning the 4th to the 14th century. Dunhuang-Gansu-China.

This detailed mural painting is on an interior wall of the ancient Thai Buddhist temple of Wat Phra Sing, which is open daily to the public. The scene is interesting as it depicts ancient styles and costumes from hundreds of years the Thai ago that would have been the common look every day at that time.

Yungang Grottoes

Wat Phumin, Nan, Thailand - October 2021 : Famous Buddha temple in Nan town is Wat Phumin. Wat Phumin is famous wall paining inside temple of the “whispering” two lovers mural.

Buddha in Cave 6, one of the richest of the Yungang sites. It was constructed between 465 and 494 C.E. by Emperor Xiao Wen. The entire interior of the cave is carved and painted. The walls of the upper stories are host to carvings of standing Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and monks among other celestial figures. Yungang Grottoes, are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China. The others are Longmen and Mogao.

The Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India are about 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BCE to about 480 or 650 CE.

The Neolithic site Çatalhöyük has a number of wall paintings depicting animals and hunting scenes. Çatalhöyük was a very large Neolithic and Chalcolithic proto-city settlement in southern Anatolia, which existed from approximately 7500 BC to 5700 BC, and flourished around 7000 BC.[1] In July 2012, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is from the Jataka tales in buddhism which depicts different stages of life of Gautam Buddha. Caves are dark and with whatever natural light available took this picture without flash.
