Teachings imparted by Lord Krishna, the Ninth incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu, to warrior prince Arjuna, seated at the back of the chariot. The epic teachings of the Lord, known as the Bhagavath Gita, was in response to the prince's reluctance to wage war against his evil cousins, in the great battle of Mahabharata, which took place about 5000 years ago. However the teachings to Arjuna on the battlefield are universal, applicable at all times and to all humanity. Lord Krishna was the charioteer who led Arjuna to battle. Model depicts the horses, the war chariot and the seated figures of Arjuna and Lord Krishna, all painted in color of gold. Located on open ground in the Temple of Murudeshwar, Karnataka, India.
