Ivriz is an Iron Age archaeological site of a Neo-Hittite rock-relief monument and cult place in south-central Anatolia (modern Turkey, province of Konya, immediately south-east of the modern town of Ereğli). The rock relief depicts the late 8th c. BC Tabalian king Warpalawas and the Storm-God Tarhunzas and is accompanied with a hieroglyphic Luwian inscription.

Ellora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Aurangabad of Maharashtra, India. It is one of the largest rock-cut Hindu temple cave complexes in the world, with artwork dating from the period 600–1000 C.  Cave 16 features the largest single monolithic rock excavation in the world, the Kailash temple, a chariot-shaped monument dedicated to the god Shiva. Myra's Rock-Cut Tombs -  The famous rock-tombs of Myra are in a place called the river necropolis.   The steep cliff is pockmarked with a huge number of closely packed rock-cut tombs in an asymmetric pattern, house type rock-cut tombs.  Most of the tombs are from the 4th century BC, and many contain funeral scenes in relief, some scenes portraying the daily life of the deceased.  Myra was the capital city of Lycia.  Turkey.

The city of Termessos is one of the Psidia settlements in the Pamphylia region, established on the rocky slopes of Güllük Mountain. During the reign of Theodosius II in the 5th centuries AD, the location of the city was changed due to thirst.\n\nThis ancient city is located in the Güllük Mountain Termessos Historical National Park.

It was established in 1966, when the area was declared a national historical landmark of Azerbaijan in an attempt to preserve the prehistoric rock carvings, mud volcanoes and musical stones in the region.\n\nGobustan State Historical and Cultural Reserve acquired national status in 2006, and Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007. As of 2011, the Petroglyph Museum functions in the reserve.

A stone relief showing two elephants on the end of the Gal Pota, Polonnaruwa. The Gal Pota (Stone Book) is a large stone measuring 9 metres by 1.5 metres by 60 centimetres covered with an inscription extolling the virtues of King Nissanka Malla. Polonnaruwa, the second most ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms, was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 CE to reunite the country under a national leader.
