Freising, Bavaria, Germany: tail gable with cross of the old town clerk's house (Stadtschreiberhaus), a civic building in Freising's old town, on Untere Hauptstrasse. The four-story building was built in the 17th century. Between 1725 and 1730 the building received elaborate stucco decoration by the clerical council registrar Johann Georg Schmidt. Today it is considered one of the most important examples of Rococo in Freising. The coat of arms shows Saint George with the defeated dragon at his feet.

Karl Marx-Hof is one of the best-known Gemeindebauten (municipal tenement complexes) in Vienna, situated in Heiligenstadt, a neighbourhood of the 19th district of Vienna, Dobling. Karl Marx-Hof was built between 1927 and 1930 by city planner Karl Ehn, a follower of Otto Wagner. It held 1,382 apartments. At over one kilometre in length (1100m, 0.68 mile) and spanning four Strassenbahn (tram) stops, Karl Marx-Hof holds the distinction of being the longest single residential building in the world.

Oslo, Norway: Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, charged with securing and promoting Norway’s interests internationally - Victoria terrasse building, completed in 1890 as a luxury housing development. The building complex spans three blocks, with a 180 metres façade. The main architect was Henrik Thrap-Meyer, but other architects were also involved, including Olaf Due in collaboration with Paul Due and Bernhard Christoph Steckmest. The building was named after the then Norwegian and Swedish Crown Princess Victoria (1862–1930). It was taken over by the Norwegian government in 1913 and put to use by the police and various political departments. During the occupation of Norway in April 1940, the building was taken over by the German forces, housing the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) and Sicherheitspolizei (SiPo), which included the Gestapo.
