Pingyao, Shanxi, China- April 7, 2012: The Ancient City of Ping Yao is a well-preserved ancient county-level city in China. It is located in Ping Yao County, central Shanxi Province. The Ancient City of Ping Yao well retains the historic form of the county-level cities of the Han people in Central China from the 14th to 20th century. Built in early Ming Dynasty, Pingyao’s Temple of the City God is one of the well-preserved such temples in China. Lying in the east of the ancient city and facing the Government Office, the temple is a quite building complex with splendid wooden architectures and brick carvings around. Tin Hau Temple in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Sham Shui Po was formerly a bay where many fishing junks berthed. The fishing folks looked to the supernatural power to keep them safe on the sea and built this temple in honor of Tin Hau, the God-dess of the Sea in 1901.
