A small group of people is standing on the road side to gaze at the astonishing scenery of Connemara in Ireland. A bus tour is leading the visitors to the most beautiful spots in Connemara and every now and then the driver stops for a couple of photos. The sun is standing low and sky almost clear.

Connemara is a western region on the atlantic coast of Ireland. The main town is Clifdon.
In the foreground we can see small ponds of water with ripples showing the effect of the wind blowing across the ponds.  In these ponds we see small plants breaking the surface – these are the bog land plant, Bog Myrtle, Myrica gale.  These ponds are a typical example of a bogland habitat, and are typical of the Flow Country landscape of the north of Scotland.  Further in the distance we see further bog lands, overseen by hills and mountains in the distance.

North Uist, island of the Outer Hebrides, lying off the northwest coast of the Scottish mainland. North Uist measures 17 miles (27 km) long from north to south and 13 miles (21 km) east to west. Its eastern part is moorland broken by numerous lochs (lakes), while the west is green, fertile, and rimmed by long sandy beaches. The coastline is deeply indented.
