Architectural detail of the east Octagonal Stele Pavilion at the Yonghe Temple (or Yonghe Lamasery or Lama Temple) which is a temple and monastery of Tibetan Buddhism in Beijing in China in springtime. Built initially in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty as the residence of Emperor Yongzheng, in 1744 the Qing Dynasty formally changed the status of the place to that of a Lamasery (Monastery of Tibetan Buddhism). The inscriptions are in four languages: Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan and Manchu. The inscriptions featured in the picture are in Tibetan. To give an exact interpretation in English is difficult and is best left to Tibetan religious historians. The uppermost scripture refers to the name of the stone stele inside. The text underneath refers to the Tibetan mantra of Avalokitesvara.

Located on the top of Jingshan (Jing Mountain) north of the Forbidden City, Wanchun Pavilion is the major building of Jingshan Park.

Early morning in spring in the Jingshan Park (located north of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China). The area used to be part of the Forbidden City but is now a separate public park. In the middle of the park is Jingshan Hill (or Prospect Hill) with the Wanchun Pavilion (or Pavilion of Everlasting Spring or Ten Thousand Spring Pavilion).

The Forbidden city consists of 980 buildings,[4] encompassing 9,999 rooms and covering 720,000 m2 (72 ha)/178 acres. The palace exemplifies the opulence of the residences of the Chinese emperor and the traditional Chinese palatial architecture and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. It is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.

The Lama Temple also known as the Yonghe Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist Temple and Monastery in Beijing.It is a complex with multiple Halls, Towers and Pavilions. This picture shows one of the pavilions, the Octagonal Stele Pavillion. The Pavilion has a beautiful roof shape with glazed tiles and decorated eaves. There is an abundant use of colours and decorative animal figures.

Jingshan Park is a public park covering around a fourth of a square kilometer (about 57 acres) immediately north of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.

The Forbidden City was constructed from 1406 to 1420, and was the former Chinese imperial palace and winter residence of the Emperor of China from the Ming dynasty (since the Yongle Emperor) to the end of the Qing dynasty, between 1420 and 1924. The Forbidden City served as the home of Chinese emperors and their households and was the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese government for over 500 years. Since 1925, the Forbidden City has been under the charge of the Palace Museum, whose extensive collection of artwork and artifacts were built upon the imperial collections of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987.
