The majestic Jedburgh Abbey was founded by King David in 1138, on the site of a 9th century church. The abbey has been destroyed multiple times due to its close location to the much-disputed English and Scottish border, until it was finally abandoned in the 19th century, when a new parish church was built.

Wollaton Hall is a country house standing on a small but prominent hill in Wollaton, Nottingham, England. Wollaton Hall was built between 1580 and 1588 for Sir Francis Willoughby and is believed to be designed by the Elizabethan architect, Robert Smythson, who was the architect of Hardwick Hall. The style is Elizabethan with early Jacobean elements.
