A seashell (Stramonita canaliculata) encrusted with corals (Astrangia) and bryozoans (Membranopora)
An underwater scene in Boracay Island, Philippines. The image showcases old coral reef stone formations that resemble boulders with various wavy shapes. The water appears blue, with sunrays penetrating it. Additionally, a black urchin is visible in the frame.

At this very healthy reef at Karang Rembang, a sea mountain north of Tayandu Island, this very large Porites Corals dominates the scenery. Porites is one of the most common scleractinian coral species on Indonesian reefs. The average of coral growth rates ranged from 0.8-1.2 cm/year. So this coral must be very old. A Pinktail Triggerfish Melichthys vidua top left and several Damsel and Anthias fishes at the right side. \nKarang Rembang, north of Tayandu Island, Indonesia, 5°27'4.8145 S 132°23'54.7306 E at 16m depth
Closeup shot of the dried coral skeleton shell. High quality photo
Stock photo showing close-up view of a large, glass marine aquarium. This saltwater reef tank has been landscaped with sand, live rocks and real living coral, being home to several fish and sea anemones. The water quality is maintained with a complex external filtration system and protein skimmers, while strong fluorescent tube lighting ensures healthy growth of the coral.

Tropical Coral Reef in the sea of Con Dao island, Vietnam
The devastating effects of Coral bleaching as a result of Climate Change. These corals are dead due to the ocean temperature rising and causing loss of endosymbiotic algae. This once was a garden of healthy coral. Now this coral reef ecosystem is decimated leaving nothing but rubble. Footage taken whilst scuba diving at Phi Phi islands, Krabi province, Thailand.

Orange Cup Coral Tubastraea coccinea occurs in tropical and subtropical Western Atlantic and Indo-Pacific in a depth range from 1-37m. This large-polyp stony coral is not a reef building species. The coral extends beautiful translucent tentacles at night. Tubastraea coccinea does not contain zooxanthellae in its tissues as many tropical corals do, allowing it to grow in complete darkness as long as it can capture enough food.\nThis large colony has fully open polyps during the day, \nbecause they are on the side facing away from the sun under a ledge. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia\n3°54'50.604 S 134°6'0.828 E at 6m depth
