Dadaab, Kenya - August 14, 2011: A newly arrived Somali refugees waits following their registration and food on August 14, 2011 at the Dadaab refuge complex. UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos toured today the refuge complex holding more that 440,000 refugees during the third day of her visit to southern Somalia and to the Kenya-hosted refugee complex to asses the impact of the famine. Her visit comes as the UN said its moving on two fronts to counter the worsening food crisis in the Horn of Africa, with an immediate infusion of food in an area where 640,000 children alone are threatened with acute malnutrition.

Temporary Tented consultation and vaccination rooms on the hospital grounds to help with the strain that Covid-19 has put on the health system of Malawi.  360,000 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines was received by Malawi but many on the vaccines passed its expiry date before it could be administrated before the 26 April 2021 expiry date.  Test are being conducted to see if these could still be used, but Malawi had to destroy this batch.
