The ceramic toposcope, topograph, or orientation table, in Castle Hill Park, Nice on the French Riviera. Set at a height of 92.7 metres above sea level, the compass dial pinpoints and orientates the local suburban geographic features and places as to North, South East and West of the City of Nice. The top of the hill where the orientation table is situated was formerly the site of the Castle of Nice from the 11th century to the 18th century, when it was finally destroyed by French troops under the command of Louis XIV.
