Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, Jul 20 -- A giant equestrian monument of General Pancho Villa, hero of the Mexican revolution of 1910. Murdered in the city of Parral, in the northern state of Chihuahua, on July 20, 1923, Pancho Villa is still a symbol today. Every year in the city of Parral thousands of people attend the performance of the deeds of the famous Mexican general, in a free event that takes place in the streets of the town.

Rhodes Memorial, the Cape Town monument to the controversial colonialist Cecil John Rhodes (1853-1902). The monument was designed by the celebrated architect Sir Herbert Baker (1862-1946). The equestrian statue named Energy was created by the sculptor George Frederic Watts 1817-1904) and the lions by John Macallan Swan (1846-1910). The monument, which lies on the slopes of Devil's Peak, adjacent to Table Mountain, was completed in 1912.
