Rome, Italy, October 22 -- A catholic priest inside the church of St. Louis of the French, near Piazza Navona. Built between 1518 and 1589 on plans by the architect Giacomo Della Porta, the church was consecrated on 8 October 1589. St. Louis of the French is considered the church of the French in Rome, particularly dedicated to the figure of King St. Louis IX. The church is also very famous and visited for the presence of some paintings on the life of St. Matthew by Caravaggio. Image in High Definition format.

Karanlk Kilise, or the Dark Church, was a monastic compound built in the 11th century.  It is decorated with scenes from the New Testament:  Christ Pantocrator, Nativity, Adoration of the Magi, First Bath, Last Supper, Betrayal of Judas, Crucifixion, Anastasis. The  frescoes, depicting scenes from the New Testament, are the best preserved in all of Cappadocia and a fine example of 11th-century Byzantine art.   Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey.
