Sedum spathulifolium is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae known by the common names broadleaf stonecrop, yellow stonecrop, and spoon-leaved stonecrop. An evergreen perennial, it is native to western North America from British Columbia to southern California, where it can be found often in shade in many types of rocky habitat in coastal and inland hills and mountains. Mayacamas Mountains, Sonoma County, California. Crassulaceae.
(Cistanthe umbellata) Pussypaws is an alpine plant.  It has a thick taproot and forms low mats on the soil.  Easily recognized by the white or pink pompom-like flowers.  The spoon-shaped leaves are hairless and grow in basal rosettes.  The inflorescence has 4 petals, 4 rounded sepals, 3 stamens and a 2-lobed stigma.  The plant is a late summer to Fall bloomer.
Pink-flowering relative of the stonecrops, orpine's biological name is (Sedum telephium). It grows readily on graves, providing a widespread decoration that plastic flowers cannot compete with.
