Aphrodisias (Greek: Ἀφροδισιάς, Aphrodisiás) was a small city in Caria, on the southwest coast of Asia Minor. Its site is located near the modern village of Geyre, Turkey, about 230 km from İzmir.

Marble attic sarcophagus, found at Ayios Ioannis, Patras, Peloponnese (AD 150-170). The sarcophagus, made of Pentelic marble, has a saddle lid. The hunt for the Calydonian boar, in which Meleager and Atalanta took part, is depicted.
Hadrian's Temple door at Ephesus.  It is one of the best preserved and most beautiful structures on Curetes Street. It was built before 138 A.D by P.Quintilius and was dedicated to the Emperor Hadrian, who came to visit the city from Athens in 128 A.D.  Inside the temple above the door, a human figure, probably Medusa stands with ornaments of acanthus leaves. Ephesus, Turkey. Friezes.
