The majestic equestrian statue of Emperor Marcus Aurelius Augustus dominates the center of the Campidoglio (the Roman Capitol Square), in the historic heart of the Eternal City. The Fountain of Neptune (Italian: Fontana del Nettuno) is a fountain in Rome, Italy, located at the north end of the Piazza Navona.
The second square of Bologna takes the name of Piazza del Nettuno for the presence of the fountain dominated by the god of the sea and is contiguous to the main Piazza Maggiore. The statue of Neptune was built between 1563 and 1567 by the Flemish sculptor Jean de Boulogne, known as Giambologna, and Tommaso Laureti, known as Il Siciliano.
