Talatona municipality, Luanda Province, Angola: Mussulo Island is actually a peninsula located south of Luanda. Created by sediments carried by the Cuanza River and moved northward by the Benguela Current, Mussulo forms a bay with three islands. Luandans often escape to this paradise, enjoying its clean beaches and decent tourist facilities. The inner lagoon offers warm, wave-free waters, while the outer beach, facing the Atlantic Ocean, remains less frequented due to strong currents and high waves.

The lakes of Marinello, small bodies of water that the sea creates by creeping into the sandy bay and that can be reached on foot from the beaches of Oliveri. The beach is known by the name of Marinello or 'the dry sea' and there are several legends linked to it. According to one of them, the beach was miraculously formed following the fall of a child from the terrace of the sanctuary, then found safe and sound on the beach just created for the withdrawal of the sea. The girl's mother, who had doubted the miraculous nature of the statue because of her dark complexion, had to change her mind.
