Men and women, young and old, performed very vibrant dancing in Super Yosakoi Parade..\nYosakoi is one of the most popular dance festivals in Japan, which originated in Kochi City, Shikoku Island, in 1954, and takes place for four days, including the eve of festival, from August 9 to 12 each year. Ever since, Yosakoi has become popular throughout Japan and Yosakoi festivals are now held all over throughout the year.

Kyoto, Japan - October 22, 2012: Geisha dressed up asTomoe Gozen at the Jidai Matsuri festival . Also called the Festival of Ages it is a traditional festival celebrated every 22 of October since 1895 to conmemorate the  anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto. It is a large parade with over two thousand people dressed in accurate costumes of the japanese history that spans 1100 years when Kyoto was Japan capital and also represents well important historic figures of the past. The parade goes from the Imperial Palace to the Heian Shrine. Tomoe Gozen is one of the few women samurais or onna bugueisha that existed known for her bravery. She fought on the Genpei wars in the XII century.  Geishas and maikos take an important role in the festival when they dress up and take the role of important characters of the past.
