Antique photograph of The French ironclad Bayard was an early stationary battleship of the French Navy, lead ship of her class. Bayard had a wooden hull and a full rigging, as well as a side armour and steam machinery. 19th Century
This is a photograph of a dilapidated and decaying structure in a body of water, likely the remnants of a shipwreck or an old pier. The structure is heavily rusted, corroded, and has suffered extensive damage over time. It consists of a series of vertical and horizontal beams, many of which are bent, broken, and missing pieces. The color palette of the scene is comprised of brown, orange, and gray hues, indicative of rust and weathering. The sky is overcast, casting a neutral light over the scene and the waters surrounding the structure are calm. There is no visible life or activity around, which adds a sense of abandonment and desolation to the image. The structure serves as a testament to the enduring impacts of time and the elements.

Vintage photograph of the Royal Navy warship HMS Scylla taken at Sheerness Dockyard, Kent in 1873. Scylla was a 16 guns, 400-horse power wooden screw corvette launched in 1856 and paid off in 1873. She served in the Mediterranean and the Pacific Station.
The picture shows the remains of a large, rusted shipwreck partially submerged in the water. The structure is heavily corroded and deteriorating, with many holes and gaps in what appears to be the hull and upper deck areas. Paint is mostly stripped away, leaving an oxidized surface of varying rust hues. The skeleton-like frame of the wreckage reveals the vessel's internal chambers, now exposed to the elements. The surrounding water is relatively calm, and the overcast sky suggests a bleak, damp atmosphere. There's no visible land or life, giving the wreck an isolated and abandoned appearance.
