Shizuoka, Japan-May,4. 2024:This is Kakegawa Castle in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.\nIt was built by the Imagawa clan, a feudal lord of Suruga, during the Muromachi period.\nKazutoyo Yamauchi remained the castle lord for 10 years.\nIt is also said that Kochi Castle was modeled after Kakegawa Castle.\nThe current Kakegawa Castle was restored in 1994.\nIn the Meiji era, it was demolished, leaving only a part of the building, due to the castle abolition ordinance.

Kochi Castle in Kochi City.Built in 1601.\nThe stones for the castle walls are piled up by a method called Nozurazumi.\nNozurazumi is a method of stacking natural stones and split stones as they are without processing.Fill the gaps between the stones with small stones.\nNozurazumi stone walls are strong, and the gaps disperse the pressure caused by tremors, making them strong against earthquakes.\nIt has survived countless crises such as fires, earthquakes, the nationwide abandonment of castles due to the Meiji Restoration, and the Pacific War, and it still stands today.
