Unesco world heritage monument in Genoa, Italy
Turin, Italy - December 18, 2019: Palazzo Carignano, a historical building which today houses the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano (National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento), on a rainy day.
Seoul, KOREA - September 3, 2023: After the rainy, the daylight illuminates Seoul Station Square in the middle of the day, and even every dark spot shines in every corner. A statue of an unknown person stands in front of the old building at Seoul Station. This is a statue of Kang Woo-gyu, who was an oriental medicine doctor and a fighter for Korean independence during the Japanese colonial period (In 1919). Kang tried to assassinate Saitō Makoto, who was serving as the Governor-General of Korea, but failed. However, there is an evaluation that the group he belongs to is not suitable for this peaceful square because its method was to induce social chaos, which is a typical tactic of the radical left. The old Seoul Station, also known as 'Culture Station Seoul' (Korean: '문화역서울'), originally named Keijo (Gyeongseong) station and designed by Tsukamoto Yasushi of Tokyo Imperial University, was finished in November 1925. Built of red brick at the time, the station was designed in a variety of styles and featured a Byzantine-style central dome and a centrally symmetrical layout. The floor of the first floor central hall was covered with granite, and the walls were covered with artificial stone. The wooden floor inside the building's VIP lounge was finished with birch, and a Western-style restaurant was located on the second floor. (Photo by Young Jin Lee)
